A Complete Set of Type Test Devices for Valves of High-Pressure Hydrogen Storage Cylinders for Vehicles has been Built by CSEI

Recently, CSEI has completed the installation and debugging of a complete set of type test devices for the valve of high-pressure hydrogen storage cylinders for vehicles, which indicates that CSEI has the capability to perform the type test for that cylinder valves.

The valve of high-pressure hydrogen storage cylinders for vehicles, which has functions of controlling hydrogen supply of cylinders and safety relief on fire status, is one of core components of hydrogen storage and supply system and also one of few special equipments on hydrogen fuel electric cell vehicles. It is very important for the safe use of hydrogen fuel cell electric vehicles.

In 2017, CSEI has carried out the research on the valve testing and devices of high-pressure hydrogen storage cylinders for vehicles, participated in two national key research and development projects related with the valve testing of high-pressure hydrogen storage cylinders for vehicles and solved technical problems such as accurate control of temperature and flow of hydrogen and hydrogen sealing in the process of testing. Furthermore, key testing equipments such as pressure cycling testing devices of the valve of high-pressure hydrogen storage cylinders for vehicles with recyclable hydrogen and testing devices for precooling hydrogen exposure have been developed successively by CSEI. Finally, a complete set of testing devices for the valve of high-pressure hydrogen storage cylinders for vehicles has been built.

At present, CSEI has been entrusted by many domestic and foreign manufacturers of the valve of high-pressure hydrogen storage cylinders for vehicles to carry out tests. The testing ability of CSEI in the field of hydrogen energy storage and transportation equipment will be further improved.
