The Beijing Science and Technology Awards conference was held in Beijing to commend individuals and organizations that have won the Beijing Science and Technology Awards on September 10. There are a total of 45 projects win the first prize, including 5 first prizes for natural science, 6 first prizes for technological inventions, 1 special prize for scientific and technological progress, and 33 first prizes for scientific and technological progress. The scientific and technological achievement "Research and application of key technology of electromagnetic ultrasonic on-line detection for high temperature pressure equipment" led by CSEI won the first prize of Beijing Municipal Science and Technology Progress Award in 2019, which make breakthroughs on key technologies on the electromagnetic ultrasonic transducer, instruments and equipment and test method, This research work developed with independent intellectual property rights of series of high-end instrumentation equipment, and high temperature on-line ultrasonic thickness, ultrasonic flaw detection, surface wave testing and guided wave testing technique, solved high temperature ultrasonic on-line detection problems such as high pressure equipment corrosion and crack damage in service.

Beijing Science and Technology Award is established by Beijing Municipal People’s Government. It is reviewed and awarded once a year, and is considered as the highest scientific and technological award with the highest gold content besides the National Science and Technology Award. The Science and Technology Progress Award aims at rewarding individuals and organizations that have made outstanding contributions to the promotion of scientific and technological progress and economic and social development by making, applying, and popularizing innovative scientific and technological achievements.
