CSEI Delegates Attend the 2014 ASME Pressure Vessels & Piping Conference

A 3-person delegation, led by Mr. Li Guanghai, director of science and technology department of CSEI, attended the 14th International Congress on ASME Pressure Vessels and Piping in Anaheim of America, which is organized by PVP department of ASME. The conference theme is innovation and imagination in pressure vessels and piping. Mr. Li Guanghai hosted the Chinese Session with the topic of the Integrity Management Using Acoustic Emission.

13 theses from CSEI are adopted for presentation at the conference. The latest technical achievements in the fields of pressure vessels and piping of CSEI are introduced to the representatives. Hot issues, including new NDT techniques, evaluation of fitness for service and integrity management, are deeply discussed with foreign representatives. The discussion and exchange with experts and scholars makes a better understanding between CSEI and the world peers.

The participation further enhances the international influence of CSEI in the field of pressure vessels and piping. It is of great significance for us to get to know the cutting-edge technology development and to learn foreign advanced scientific and technological achievements.

The conference of ASME PVP, held annually, is top international level in the field of pressure vessels and piping. All the conference papers are recorded in EI and part of them can be submitted to the pressure vessels technical journal of ASME. Mr. Jia Guodong, the vice-president of CSEI, as one of the sponsors, set up Chinese session and sends a delegation every year. Nearly 800 representatives from the Americas, Asia, Europe, Africa and Oceania attend the meeting and more than 190 seminars are organized.750 papers are included in the conference proceedings, referring to the fields of related codes and standards of pressure vessels and piping, finite element modeling, design and analysis, fluid-structure interaction, high-pressure technology, NDT, nuclear engineering, material and construction, operation and maintenance of the pressure vessel, earthquake resistance engineering, etc.
