On Jan.23th, 2014, Lin Shuqing, the president of CSEI, visited the ASME Headquarters in Manhattan, New York. Mr. Li Linlu, Vice Chief Engineer and Director of Boiler Division, and Mr. Xu Hongyi, Director of International Division, accompanied this visit. Ms. June Ling, the Executive Vice President of ASME, Mr. Mark Sheahan, Manager Director of Standards and Codes Development of Standards and Certification Department and Michael Merker, Manager Director of Conformity Assessment Department hosted the delegation and held friendly meeting.

Looking back the enjoyed friendship in last three decades, both parties have affirmed the long term fruitful cooperation in between. On behalf of CSEI, Mr. Lin Shuqing briefed the progress of the ASME authorized inspection agency and translation of NBBI Standards of CSEI.

The two parties also consulted about the cooperative program to be carried out in 2014, including sending trainees to ASME for studying, participating the Code Week, joint research and standard development, organizing China’s working group for ASME Standards, etc. At the meeting, Mr. Lin Shuqing officially invited ASME to send representatives to attend the Second Science and Technology Week organized by CSEI.

This visit to ASME is the highest-level and extensive visit in recent ten years for CSEI, which is deep and significant. A number of reached cooperation plans are constructive and operable, the implementation of these plans will have far-reaching effects on future development of CSEI and the whole special equipment industry of China.
