Recently, Science, Technology and Finance Department of State Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR) organized an expert team to conduct on-site review on National Quality Inspection Center for Non-destructive Testing (NDT) Instruments and Equipment (hereinafter referred to as NDT Center). This NDT Center was for construction by China Special Inspection and Research Institute (CSEI).

The expert team debriefed the report on NDT Center and had a detailed understanding of its construction, testing qualification and business development, and then they visited the National Special Equipment Safety and Energy Saving Technology Research Laboratory which is based in CSEI’s Shunyi branch. After that, they unanimously agreed that CSEI has good experience in the construction of national quality inspection center and approved CSEI’s application for NDT Center construction for the following reasons. First, CSEI’s existing inspection capability basically covers the testing items of NDT instruments and equipment. Second, CSEI, which is an influential agency in China, serves many manufacturers and users of NDT instruments inside China. Meanwhile, the expert team also made some suggestions for further improvement of the NDT Center.

Mr. Liu Sanjiang, president of CSEI, stated that CSEI will follow the expert team’s suggestions, adhere to the construction principle of “high starting point, high standard and high quality”, purchase most advanced testing equipment, introduce high-quality talents and strengthen independent innovation and standardization on testing technology. CSEI will also keep improving technical and management ability, and strive to built the NDT center into a “domestic first-class, internationally advanced” service platform.
