Shen Gongtian, CSEI’s vice president was invited to participate in the 15th International Conference on Condition Monitoring in Nottingham from Sept. 8 to 14, 2018. The conference is hosted by British Institute of Non-Destructive Testing annually. Vice president Shen was invited to lecture on “Investigation of Acoustic Emission Characteristics of Rolling Bearings on Passenger Ropeway”, and made an in-depth communication and discussion with the peers of international condition monitoring.

In the council of International Society for Condition Monitoring (ISCM) held in the same period, as the president of Chinese Institute of Non-Destructive Testing and director of ISCM, vice president Shen applied to host the 3rd World Conference on Condition Monitoring (WCCM). The WCCM is the highest-level academic conference in the field of condition monitoring, and hosted by ISCM biennially. Through open reply and discussion, the ISCM council decided the 3rd WCCM would be hosted by Chinese Institute of Non-Destructive Testing and CSEI in Beijing, 2021, and vice president Shen would be the conference chairman.

Winning the host rights means the research team and achievements of Chinese condition monitoring technology is recognized by the international peers. By hosting this conference, China will play a stronger role in the field of international condition monitoring, and promote the prosperity & development of condition monitoring industry with other countries.
