Recently, Thermal Imaging Detection Sub-committee of NDT Technical Committee of ISO (ISO/TC135/SC8) voted and approved CSEI’s internal standard proposal of “NDT, Infrared thermal imaging, Part II: Comprehensive performance testing methods”. This is another major breakthrough in infrared detection field after vice president Shen Gongtian led his scientific research team to finish China first international standard for infrared detection ISO 18251-1:2017 of “NDT, Infrared thermal imaging, Part I: Characteristics of system and equipment”.

Voting for this project proposal was initiated on March 2, 2018, which got the supports of national groups from ten countries such as USA, Australia, Korea, Japan, Canada, etc., and some experts from USA, Korea, United Kingdom, Japan, Italy, Canada and China actively participated in the development of this project.

The successful approval of international standard proposal for infrared detection represents Chinese infrared detection technical result obtains international recognition, further elevates China’s international status in infrared detection field, and facilitates to Chinese thermal infrared imagers’ access to international market.
