Recently, three national standards which led and developed by CSEI have been officially issued. The three standards are Methods for Gas Pipeline Corrosion Inspection (GB/T 34349-2017), Methods for Oil Pipeline Corrosion Inspection (GB/T 34350-2017) and Classification Guide for Risk-based Oil-gas Pipeline Safety Risk (GB/T 34346-2017).

These three newly issued standards were aimed to coordinate the State Council Safety Production Commission in hidden danger control and to improve the oil-gas pipeline’s regulation systems. During the developing process, CSEI set up a drafting team which invited pipeline technical experts from Petro China, Sinopec, gas companies, pipeline inspection agencies and universities. The drafting team carried out a comparative study on the oil-gas pipelines standard system at home and abroad, then developed the drafts based on years of research and work experience on inspection. Many seminars and experts’ brainstorms contributed to the official promulgation of these standards.
