The Fourth Plenary Member Working Meeting of the NACE International Pressure Equipment Industry Expert Advisory Committee (STAG P73) was successfully held in Beijing on August 10, 2019. Chief Researcher of CSEI and Committee Chairman Mr. Shou Binan attended and hosted the meeting. General Representative of NACE China Ms Gu Bei and over 20 pressure equipment and corrosion field experts and scholars from CSEI, Hefei General Machinery Research Institute, Gansu Lanke Petrochemical High-tech Equipment Co., Ltd, and Sinopec Shanghai Gaoqiao Petrochemical Co., Ltd. attended the meeting.

The purpose of STAG P73 is to fully share the technology and research results, and to support the development of technical standards and anti-corrosion technology solutions in the field of pressure equipment corrosion in China and the United States. STAG P73 actively improves material corrosion research and anti-corrosion technology development and application in China.

At the meeting, the technical information exchange in the field of special equipment industry and the voting for co-opted members were carried out. Participants analyzed and discussed the practical problems that frequently occurr in projects, and brought forwarded their suggestion and opinions regarding to microbial corrosion and control of oil and gas development systems, stress corrosion behavior and mechanism of SA516Gr70N steel in alkaline sulfide environment, flange failure case sharing and thoughts on manufacturing quality control. NACE International"s recent developments in China and the progress status of various STAG standards were also reported in the meeting.
